Every person has a story.
Some chapters are filled with celebration. Others are marked by hardship, uncertainty, loss, or unexpected change. None of us gets to choose every chapter, but we do get to choose how we respond to them.
This website isn’t about pretending life has been easy. It hasn’t.
Like many people, I’ve experienced success and failure, joy and heartbreak, victories and setbacks. I’ve served in the military, built a career, earned a law degree while working full-time, survived a serious motorcycle accident, and learned to adapt to life after a traumatic brain injury. Along the way I’ve also experienced broken relationships, financial struggles, disappointment, and seasons where simply putting one foot in front of the other felt like enough for one day.
None of those experiences make me unique.
What connects us isn’t our circumstances—it’s that every one of us will eventually face challenges we didn’t ask for.
This project isn’t about dwelling on those moments.
It’s about what comes after them.
The Long Walk Ahead is my commitment to continue moving forward. The Appalachian Trail is simply the journey I’ve chosen to represent that commitment. Through training, setbacks, victories, and everything in between, I hope to encourage others to keep moving toward whatever mountain stands in front of them.
